Here's what happened in the Art Hall at our first New Orleans Festival on November 12, 2010...

International Healing Arts Festival 2010 – ART HALL ACTIVITIES

   Inspiring a City, Creating a Community

 Of HEALTH, HAPPINESS, JOY, CREATIVITY, SUSTAINABILITY

 

Materials/Imagery-  Sticks, roots, leaves, bark, sand, seeds, seashells, celtic knots, trees,    feathers, bones, dirt, Native American Indian symbols

 

Rear Hall:     NATURE MANDALA

Front Hall:   Left Wall:     Ladder BRANCH SCULPTURE/evolving into tree of life????

                               (symbolism:   achieving personal wholeness,

                          connection between spiritual/physical aspects of self)

Front Hall:   Right Wall:    ZENTANGLE Card Table, with 49 piece grid of 3 inch square     zentangles; moveable; rearrangeable (7 rows of 7).   Participants can create their own; take one of the existing squares; then place theirs in the designs; creating a constantly changing piece.   (Jefferson Parish)

 

Hallway:   Installation of “POSTCARDS TO OUR PLANET, Love Letters to the Earth.”

    Either predrawn, or drawn on site. 6” x 3 ¾”, watercolor or poster board

    Message (either through words or drawing or symbols:

      CHOICE (positive phrases:   give, share, conserve, restore, listen,etc)

        We can choose happy life, health…..We take care of earth, she takes care of us….Taking care of each other.   We exchange nurturing.
